The Shri Sankat Mochan Yoga Research Institute (S M Yoga) is a non-profit organization founded in the year 1976 by Acharya Dharmnath Shastri ji for the research and re-establishment of the ancient Indian cultural science of Yoga. Its mission is to spread peace, health and joy through yoga and its spirituality for well-being and holistic healthy living, which is disappearing in the hectic modern world.
S M Yoga is the only Indian Government-certified Yoga Institute in Vrindavan, one of the most spiritual places on earth. It is located on the famous Parikrama (pilgrimage) Road. The natural surroundings, the fresh air near the holy river Yamuna, and the ayurvedic trees make it a peaceful and harmonious place for growth and healing. In addition to yoga, the ashram also provides naturopathic treatment and runs a gurukula school for poor children in the surrounding area.
We try to do as much as we can for all people seeking our help, such as distributing free Prasad (holy food) to the poor, celebrating festival days with them, and offering classes on ancient Indian spiritual texts and yoga sessions to everyone. In addition, we run a number of volunteer projects throughout the year focused on improving our community, which is subject to a large degree of pollution and poverty, and improving our facilities at the ashram. Any volunteer or financial support is greatly appreciated and would make a tremendous difference in our ability to do seva (service). Radhe Radhe!
