Yoga & Healing Therapies

SUKSHMVYAYAM
(Yogic Loosening Exercise)
Relaxation exercise makes body parts a little loose or flexible so that, during any yogasana, the body remains favourable to it and the performance becomes easier. Cervical, shoulder, wrist, waist, knee and ankle movements are done.

MEDITATION
(Relaxation and Concentration)
For calming the hyperactivity and dispersion of the mind, psycho-physical relaxation methods are taught and, subsequently, specific concentration and meditation techniques. With constant and regular practice, meditation activates the intuitive sphere and increases personal creativity: the great potential latent in everyone is revealed, capable of directing our evolutionary path.

.

CHAKRA AWARENESS
(Awakening Energy)
The word chakra literally means “wheel”, but in the yogic context the chakras are vortices of pranic energy at specific areas in the body which control the circulation of prana permeating the entire human structure. Each chakra is a switch which turns on or opens up patterns of behaviour, thought or emotional reactions which may have been unconscious in our everyday life. Concentration on the chakras while performing yogic practices stimulates the flow of energy through the chakras and helps to activate them.

YOGA NIDRA
(Yogic Sleep)
Yoga Nidra is deep relaxation technique and a form of meditation. Also called “psychic sleep,” it is a state between sleeping and waking: the body is completely relaxed and the practitioner turns the awareness inward. It also stimulates the hormones in the pineal gland, which releases melatonin – a horomone that reduces stress, boosts the immune system and helps preventing illness. Regular practice helps harmonize the brain hemispheres, promoting better mental performance.

ASANA
(Postures – Traditional Yoga)
The Patanjali Yoga Sutra defines yogasana as “sthiram sukham asanam“, meaning that position which is comfortable and steady. Asanas are practiced to develop the ability to sit comfortably in one position for an extended period of time.

SHATKARMA
(Yogic way of Body Cleansing)
Shat means “six” and karma means “action”; the shatkarmas consist of six groups of purification practices. The aim of Hatha Yoga is to create harmony between the two major pranic flows, ida and pingala, thereby attaining physical and mental purification and balance.
The shatkarmas are also used to balance the three doshas or humours in the body: kapha, mucus; pitta, bile; and vata, wind. According to both Ayurveda and Hatha Yoga, an imbalance in the doshas will result in illness. These practices are also used before pranayama in order to purify the body of toxins and to ensure safe and successful progression along the spiritual path.

TANTRA & KUNDALINI YOGA
(Yoga of Awareness)
Kundalini Yoga is a dynamic, powerful tool designed to bring balance to mind, body and soul. It precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purify the blood.

YOGA FOR WELLNESS
(Health and Weight Loss)
It is designed and organized to promote well-being and prevention. Regular movement and being in a nutrient-focused calorie deficit is the key to healthy weight loss and yoga plays a part in that. However, it’s a much more holistic process than just calories in calories out: it creates a deeper awareness of your physical and mental state, linking the breath to the movement of the asanas.

PRANAYAMA
(Yogic Breathing Techniques)
Breathing techniques that provide a method whereby the life force (prana) can be activated and regulated in order to go beyond one’s normal boundaries or limitations and attain a higher state of vibratory energy and awareness.

YOGA THERAPY
(Yogic Loosening Exercise)
Yoga therapy is the application of yoga practices to alleviate physical and mental health conditions with the view of promoting self-care and encouraging overall well-being. Whilst the practice of yoga in general aims to cultivate the body and mind and hence has the potential for therapeutic effects, in yoga therapy we are using specific yoga practices and their known benefits to help alleviate or improvement mental and physical ailments.

YOGA FOR PREGNANCY
(Pre-Natal & Post-Natal Yoga)
Exploring natural ways of bringing energetic well-being to the woman and the baby before and after birth.
Before. Bringing deep relaxation to fight anxiety, fear and worry. Stimulating the energetic connection between mother and child. Facilitating joint mobility, flexibility and fluidity of movement to arrive prepared for labor. Reducing nausea, reflux, indigestion. Relieving back pain, lumbar, sacral and cervical pain.
